QF1

Rudolf Durica (Slovakia) vs Paolo Barvero (Italy)
A high quality technical match, with Rudolf dominating all three rounds to win on points. No shame for Paolo, cos Rudolf was just obviously better.
Result: Rudolf Durica won by unanimous decision.

QF2

Dennis Varaxa (Ukraine) vs Daniel Mashamaite (South Africa)
Looked like a David-Goliath match with Dennis standing like a giant in front of Daniel. Dennis was too big and powerful for Daniel, but received a lot of "boos" for acting cocky in the ring. Dennis scored an 8-count in the second round and kept dominating the third round...
However, the match was finished dramatically when Dennis knocked Daniel out with a head butt. The decision was made to grant Daniel the win by disqualifying Dennis.
Result: Daniel Mashamaite won by DQ.

QF3

Santichai Swish (Thailand) vs Abbas Ahmadi (Iran)
Probably the closest quarterfinal. Santichai was the better man in the ring in the first round, but seemed to be out of gas in the second. Abbas took all the initiative in the second round. In the third round, Santichai had himself refreshed and finally walked away with a close points decision.
Result: Santichai Swish won by split decision.

QF4

Andrei Kulebin (Belarus) vs Chawan Dasri (Cambodia)
Again, it is a match of very high quality. The first round was quite even and Andrei started to take control of the rhythm in the second round. Chawan almost survived all three rounds but the match was stopped only three seconds before the end of the final round due to a bad cut on Chawan's face.
Result: Andrei Kulebin won by 3rd round TKO.

SM2

Andrei Kulebin vs Santichai Swish
Both fighters went toe-to-toe in the first round and performed a very exciting round. Andrei finished Santichai up in the middle of second round with a powerful hook to the body.
Result: Andrei Kulebin won by 2nd round KO.

Final

Rudolf Durica vs Andrei Kulebin
Everybody expected another "Fight of the Century". However, the final was finished unexpectedly early as Andrei caught Rudolf's left eye with an elbow. The match was stopped twice, and Rudolf was very determined to fight on. However, the bleeding was too bad and doctor had no choice but to stop Rudolf from continuing. It was very unfortunate for Rudolf but Andrei once again had proved that he deserved to be on top of the world.
Result: Andrei Kulebin won by 1st round TKO.
